Darwin to Adelaide in a solar-powered car
A
lightweight car which is powered by the sun and was designed and produced by
students from Durham University is preparing for its major challenge.
The
engineering students' solar-powered vehicle, which charge tens of thousands of
pounds to construct, is about to compete against 50 other prototypes in a
3,000km (1,800-mile) race across the Australian Outback.
Durham
team leader Toby McBride says the team, which has spent the last 3 years
putting the car together, is positive it can do well and could even win.
